Xtreme Mountain Racing Visits the Wyman Winter Festival
February 19, 2010

Selby!
Craig, Colorado – XMR put on a great Show at the Wyman Winter Festival in Craig, Colorado this past weekend. With over 3,400 spectators in attendance the festivities were fun for everyone. From snocross, to drags, the vintage show, the snodeo, fireworks and finals under the lights there was no shortage of winter snowmobiling fun. XMR hauled snow for almost two weeks and built a great track full of bumps that changed a lot throughout the race day with lots of sled traffic. XMR packed two days of racing into one full day and it wasn’t until he sun went down and the lights lit up that the finals took place.

Sport Stock Start
In the Pro/Semi Pro finals Wes Selby took the stock and mod honors over Willie Elam who had been winning the qualifiers most of the day. They put on a great show in the main, and rightfully so, with a $3,000 purse on the lines. It was the same in the sport class where Tyler Dyess had been winning the qualifiers, with Jason Fox Close behind, but Fox was hungry for the win in the main and took both the Sport I and Sport II wins for the day.

Chapman Under the Lights!
In the Juniors classes, Dillon Moss took the 16-17 title and the 14-17 Xtreme title. Wesley Chapman was a close second in the 16-17, and Chapman managed the win in the 14-15 class. Likewise AJ Stoffle kept up his winning streak in both the 10-13 and the 10-13 Challenge, and was looking good on the sled all weekend – it won’t be long before this guy moves up…Michelle Stoffle came back from an injury in Afton and won the Sport Women main in front of her hometown crowd as well!
We can forget the little sleds either… The Green Brothers Jarret and Kyler moved up to 7-10 this race and took first and second respectively. This left the door open for Jake Gill in the 120 Stock class, Payton Hogan in the 120 Super, and Grey Mathews in the 120 Champ to all take their wins. These little ones put on a great show and had a lot of fun on the big track at Craig!
This is always one of the best XMR events of the season, so if you missed it this year, start planning for next. XMR will be in Grand Lake again this weekend with Snocross and Drag races planned for Saturday and Sunday, followed by more racing action in Walden, CO the following weekend. More information on XMR and full race results and point standings can be found on the XMR website at www.xmrracing.com. See everyone at the Track!
Xtreme Mountain Racing Lights Up Afton, WY
February 8, 2010
Afton, Wyoming – XMR traveled farther north that it ever has to put on race three of the eight race season. This new location, just south of Jackson invited MWR riders to come mix it up with XMR, and with Coeur d’Alene canceled, many turned out for the fun – from local Pro/semi-pro Willie Elam to 120 rider Brody Hasenack. The horseshoe shaped track at the Afton fairgrounds proved challenging for all and went from fast and smooth on Saturday morning to a total bump-fest on Sunday.
Elam took the holeshot and the honors in both the Semi-Pro/Pro Stock and Open classes followed by Logan Halford and Zach Acord. Taylor Dyess was looking good in the Sport Class as was Jason Fox. Wesley Chapman kept up a strong presence in the junior classes again and is looking good in season points. In the women’s class Erica Potter came out and tried her hand, but didn’t have much luck, and after Michelle Stoffle came off her sled Darla Murphy took the win in the main. AJ Stoffle kept up his winning streak in Junior 10-13, and it was Cody Docheff in the 7-10 class. In the 120’s Jake Gill took the stock win and Peyton Hogan took the Champ win. In the super Sunday Korttney Potter got the win she had been looking for this early season.
Remember it is still early season, and XMR still has 5 more race events planned – the snow is looking good, and it will be back to back for the next five weekends! XMR will be back to Colorado February 13-14th for the Wyman Winter Carnival in Craig, CO with Snocross, Drag races, Vintage Snodeo and more! More information on XMR and full race results and point standings can be found on the XMR website at www.xmrracing.com. Big thanks to the town of Afton who helped make this race happen both hosting and hauling snow – see everyone next week!
Xtreme Mountain Racing Fueled by Max Muscle Lands in Eagle, Colorado
February 4, 2010
Eagle, Colorado – XMR was in Eagle for more Snocross action. Last year Eagle was most riders favorite track, and this year it may be as well. Will Brown and Jeff Mathews built a great half mile course that challenged all with a chicane right out of the start into a double that ejected more than a few riders over the course of racing, then it was in to a tight left with a double, and the setup for a big sixty footer, then a long run to another double, a hard left, and double double to the tabletop finish…everybody got some air, even Extreme Kellie of local Channel Two news who got tossed on a sled and ran around the track.
The Montgomery brothers sure got air with Logan taking the win in 120 Champ, and Luke doing the same in 120 Stock. The Green brothers rode well also this weekend – Jarrett took the win in Jr. 7-10 followed by his brother Kyler. Jarret took second in Jr. 10-13 behind AJ Stoffle and it was Stoffle and Greens again in the 10-13 Challenge on Sunday. Wesley Chapman rode to the top of the podium again this weekend in the Jr. 14-15 class after a tough battle with Dillon Thomas. Although, Thomas rode well in the Jr. 16-17 class and took the win there. Dylon Moss has been quiet this year, but after having some rough qualifiers he pulled out the win in Jr. 14-17.
Michelle Stoffle won the sport women’s class this weekend, and is riding well competing in some junior class races as well. Jason Fox is looking good this year, holding his own in Sport I and Sport II but still behind Tyler Dyess, who wone both classes respectively this weekend. Fox had the win this weekend in the Beginner Stock class though. In the Masters 35+ class Eric Potter continued his winning streak, as did Wes Selby in both the Semi-Pro Stock and Open classes.
The Eagle race was sponsored by Max Muscle sports nutrition, and riders got to sample some of the products including supplements, Skins recovery gear, and Zeal eyewear, the podium finishers even took some home… XMR hosted snocross in Afton, Wyoming – so all those in the Northwest came out and play – more on that race to come… As always, more information on XMR sno-cross and full race results and point standings can be found on the XMR website at www.xmrracing.com.
The XMR Season Opener Roars to Life!
January 6, 2010
Grand Lake, Colorado – January 4, 2009 – With over eighty-eight thousand cubic yards of snow moved from the high Rocky Mountains, the snowmobile capital of Colorado and the Xtreme Mountain Racing season roared to life this first weekend of the new year! Riders old, and many new to racing came out to test their skills and machines, and already it looks like XMR is going to have a great season of racing!

Wes Selby
It was the Wes Selby show this opening weekend, as the hometown hero arrived back from nationals to dominate the XMR races. Selby, who calls Grand Lake home, almost effortlessly took the wins in the Semi-Pro Stock and Semi-Pro open events of the weekend, often not even trying for the holeshot, but rather working through the pack for sport. Selby was consistently followed by teammate Taylor Meuwissen, and Granby, Colorado local Zach Acord, who claimed second and third in both classes respectively.

Wesley Chapman
It was a good weekend to be a “Wes” in racing across the board. Wesley Chapman, of Craig, Colorado, who raced the first few races of his career last season, came out strong to claim not one, but two Junior class wins in Grand Lake. Likewise, Wesley Sandoval raced his first race ever and took the prize in the Beginner Stock class over healthy competition from a slew of first time riders!

Tyler Dyess
Young veteran Taylor Dyess rode more than most this weekend and while he tried his luck in the Semi-Pro class, Dyess showed his best performance in the Sport and Junior classes where he garnered three first place finishes over the course of the weekend. Even the 120 riders rode hard on what was a big track for them – Tallyn Wagner, Logan Montgomery and Cameron Thomas all had wins and could likely be the future of snocross.
XMR thanks all the riders and teams for the great racing action that started the season right and XMR thanks all those that made this first race of the season such a success, especially Jolstad Motorsports. XMR will be back in Grand Lake in February as this is just the beginning of an action packed winter full of high flying sno-cross in the West. Next week XMR will take a break as most riders will be at the ISOC Western National in Sandy, Utah but XMR will pick up again in Eagle, Colorado on January 16th and 17th. As always, more information on XMR sno-cross can be found on the XMR website at www.xmrracing.com.

XMR Snocross Finale at the Top of the World!
March 30, 2009
Silverton, Colorado – March 30, 2009 -
As the spring riding season settles into the Rocky’s, XMR hosted the final race of the season at 10,500 feet, almost two miles above sea level in Silverton, Colorado – this is the essence of Xtreme Mountain Racing – sled tuning was never more important, athlete endurance wasn’t tested like this all season, and the season championships were on the line! The long track sat high in San Juans and featured a big up-hill step-up/step-down to a 90-foot triple and a huge finish line double – the racing was fast and the track made for some carnage that was definitely exciting for spectators!
The Stoffles, Michael and Teresa, really made XMR shine this season, and so it was only fitting that they showed the riders the way around the track during the opening ceremonies under the Silverton sun. It wasn’t long after that the racing began, and XMR’s top riders finalized their positions for the season. Logan Montgomery had built up a strong lead in the 120 classes, and won the last race of his season and the season championship in the Stock and Modified classes. Kyler Green did the same in the 120 Super Sunday class. His Brother Jarrat sealed the deal in the Junior 7-10 Class, as did AJ Stoffle in the Junior 10-13 class and the 10-13 Challenge. Wesely Chapman won the Junior 14-15 race, but Dillon Thomas ran consistently all season and took the championship! Thomas won the 14-17 Challenge race, but Dillon Moss took the class honors for the season in addition to the Junior 16-17 crown!
The adult classes saw some great racing as well as the seasons battles were settled in these last few contests. In Sport class Shad Peterson took the win and the championship in Sport Stock I while Mike DePalma took the title in Sport Stock II. Michelle Stoffle held the Stoffle name high with a win and the season honors in Sport Women. Eric Potter, the old iron man, won the Masters race and the season championship. He was beat out by Shane Lloyd in the Semi-Pro race, but with his consistency all season took the XMR Semi-Pro champ title as well.
These last races were some of the best of the season – the track was imposing and the riders brought their A-games and were ready for this final event, and a great event it was. XMR is proud of all the teams and riders that participated this year, and all those that volunteered time and money to help this season. XMR is already planning for next season, and always looking for input to advance the snowmobile sports we all love in the western states. Questions or comments are always appreciated, so visit www.xmrracing.com to contact XMR and see final race results and point standings. Enjoy the spring riding, and visit us on the track next year!
Colorado Powersports XMR Snocross Double Header
March 17, 2009
Gould, Colorado – March 16, 2009 -
Warm weather in the Colorado Rockies didn’t stop Xtreme Mountain Racing from hosting a snocross double header in Gould over the last full weekend of February and the first weekend of March this year. Colorado Powersports and The Northpark Snow Snakes sponsored these events, and spectators and riders alike had a lot of fun in the high mountains of Northern Colorado. The track was a mix of tough terrain with a whoop section that separated the front runners from the pack. [Read more]
Wyman Winter Carnival Hosts XMR Races!
February 20, 2009
Craig, Colorado – February 16, 2009 – The Wyman Museum hosted their annual winter carnival this past weekend and provided a great site for Xtreme Mountain Racing’s snocross and enduro races. Almost 5,000 spectators visited throughout the weekend to watch races, see vintage snowmobiles, ice sculptures, the museum and more. Wes Selby built a great track for the races and all the riders, Pro’s to 120’s, had a great weekend.
In addition to bringing his skills to the helm of the groomer, Wes Selby proved victorious in the Semi-Pro races in both the Stock and Open classes. He rode his black Cat well and put on a great show for fans. Zach Acord was in the chase as well and despite a sore hip took second in both events. The Sport classes were rounded out by the usual suspects and the points race between Peterson and DePalma continues. Dylon Moss rode hard in the sport classes as well, but had a few offs that set him back. He did however ride his Polaris to victory in the Junior 16-17 class, followed by Trevor Corbin and Trent Chanell. Debbie Montgomery rounded out the Montgomery race team and found herself on the podium in the Sport Women class, with TJ and Logan also riding well in the Masters and 120 classes respectively. Dylon Thomas won the Junior 14-15 class with the Stoffles, AJ and Michelle not for behind. The racing was good and the fans and riders had a great time. [Read more]
Montgomery, Holcomb, and Magges Comeback at XMR Wycolo
February 11, 2009
Wycolo, Wyoming – February 9, 2009 –
Xtreme Mountain Racing invited snocross racers and spectators to 8,900ft. above sea level – the high mountains of the Snowy Range in Southern Wyoming this past weekend. This locals stomping ground brought some unexpected racers out of “retirement” (who really retires from riding anyways?) for some bumpy paint tradin’ on a tight mountain track.
Big Track at the XMR Wyoming Waterjet Eagle Inaugural
February 9, 2009
Eagle, Colorado – February 2, 2009 – Xtreme Mountain Racing was in Eagle, Colorado this January 31st and February 1st for the first time ever. The Van Campen ranch provided a great snocross race site, and a venue for the local skijoring competition during the same weekend. Wes Selby designed a long wide and FAST track with the help of Will Brown who ran the snow cat all weekend for XMR. Covering almost a mile, the race pace was fast and really exciting to watch.
