XMR Announces ISOC Affiliation and New Season Sponsors
November 23, 2009
Craig , Colorado – November 18, 2009 – With the first races of the season a little over a month away, the countdown to the first green flag has begun. The 2009-2010 X-treme Mountain Racing Season holds big things for XMR. XMR is proud to announce its affiliation with the ISOC National Circuit, to allow XMR competitive members the opportunity to race ISOC nationals at a discount. We are excited to continue support of snocross in the west and to grow young racers into national competitors.
XMR has more snocross races planned this year than any other – a full schedule with 9 point races this season in Colorado and Wyoming. XMR will also participate in the ISOC national in Utah this year.
XMR has a host of new sponsors this year as well. We welcome Muscle Max Sports Nutrition (MMSN) the exclusive sports nutrition provider of XMR Racing. XMR would also like to recognize the ZEAL Optics as the official eyewear of XMR and SKINS as the official recovery gear of XMR. XMR Members should watch for multiple MMSN, ZEAL, and SKINS giveaways throughout the season. XMR members will be entitled to significant discounts on MMSN, ZEAL Optics and Skins recovery gear as well – more information to follow. Also, watch for Max Sport and Fitness Magazine and the MMSN e-news coming to you soon.
XMR is also proud to announce its affiliation with Best Western Hotels. Best Western Hotels will be contributing a portion of its profits to XMR to further grow the race circuit for its members.
XMR reminds everyone to sign up for season memberships as soon as possible and to fill out their racer profiles on the web site at: www.xmrracing.com. Watch the website for constant updates – new information will be added daily. XMR Staff is looking forward to a great race season, and reuniting with good friends. NSSR Report From Menomonie, Wisconsin
February 3, 2009
The NSSR “Fire on Ice” Snosuit Super Series proved to be Hot again as a new Top Speed World Record was set at 170.078 mph by Glen Hall on the Henricks Racing ProLine D&D 1200 Turbo Sled.
In the competition was “Fast Eddy” Ensor from Illinois on the Busa Mod and the Marv Jorgenson Jaws1 sled driven by Darrin Weber. “Fast Eddy” was creeping up on the 170 mph record with a pass of 167.117 mph when he encountered mechanical problems and was done early in the day. Jaws1 sled made some great passes with a top speed of 160.893 mph while fighting a coolant leak which hindered performance of this great sled.
It was a fantastic day at Menomonie, Wisconsin with sunshine and the temperatures approaching 40 degrees Fahrenheit. NSSR experienced 80 entries on the Professional Track Side with 310 passes and over 50 entries on the Fun Run Track over 300 passes. The quartering head wind from the Southwest held speeds down on most of the classes. Despite the headwind, sixteen of the entries still managed to exceed the 130 mph mark and of those, eight were over the 150 mph mark.
The addition, the Vintage and Pro Mod classes for the World Record Series proved to be exciting with Rick Bolduc posting three new records on the SRX Yamahas and Jack Hendricks posting a 161.194 mph pass on his new ProLine/D&D Turbo Pro Mod. In all, NSSR saw eight new records!
Turbos are here to stay and show that if you want power, just turn up the boost! Jeff Simons’ full body CPR Yamaha Turbos were there to break the World Records in the Pro Stock and Improved Four Stroke Classes. Jeff Simons’ CPR Turbo with Driver Tim Steinke rocked a new record at 163.636 mph and Shanon Disch on his 2004 Warrior Improved Stock Turbo went an amazing 154.838 mph to set a new record. Who would imagine that full body snowmobiles would ever go into the 160 mph range?
NSSR’s next 1000 foot World Record Speed Run is scheduled for Saturday February 14th at Forest Lake Minnesota. This race will also host the Kids Pro Ice Series, showcasing the future racers as they put their mini sleds to the test. See our website at www.racenssr.com for more information on location and hotel rooms. Registration is at 8AM and racing goes from 10 AM to 4 PM.
NSSR would like to thank Snosuit, the Series Sponsor, and all our sponsors for making the NSSR Super Series possible. We also extend a big thank you to Rods Performance Shop, Kostman Racing, and the City of Menomonie, Wisconsin for making this event a success.
